LPW promoter Coach Emerson has moved to reassure fans that Ultimate Pacifist will defend the LPW Heavyweight Championship on the next Monday Night Mayhem, following growing concerns that the champion has no intention of actually wrestling anybody.
Speaking exclusively to watchlpw.com, Emerson confirmed that Ultimate Pacifist has been officially ordered to defend the championship and warned that failure to do so will result in him being stripped of the title.
"He will 100% defend the LPW Heavyweight Championship on Monday Night Mayhem" Emerson said. "If he doesn't, he won't be LPW Heavyweight Champion anymore. I've checked and I'm definitely allowed to do that."
Ultimate Pacifist's reign has presented LPW with a problem that, in hindsight, probably should have been anticipated - the fact that he doesn't believe in violence.
He won the title after colluding with Frasier Cranium to injure every other participant in the Legally Distinct Cash In The Financial Institution Match, then again having Cranium incapacitate Girthquake to enable to him to cash his briefcase in and become champion.
Since then Ultimate Pacifist has insisted this is proof that since he hasn't attacked anyone, that a true champion is one that doesn't resort to violence. This has raised fears he will attempt to wriggle out of any matches for his newly acquired belt.
Coach Emerson insists that will not happen.
"Although he technically has 30 days to defend the title, I'm in charge and I can do what I want" Emerson explained
Championship Defence Confirmed for Mayhem
Emerson stopped short of confirming who Ultimate Pacifist will face on Monday Night Mayhem, but made clear that a legitimate LPW Heavyweight Championship defence will take place.
Pacifist has until his scheduled match to comply.
Should he refuse to compete, walk out, or otherwise attempt to avoid defending the championship, Emerson says the title will immediately be declared vacant.
The promoter also dismissed suggestions that Pacifist's associate Frasier Cranium could intervene on the champion's behalf.
"Ultimate Pacifist has to defend the championship himself. Frasier can't wrestle the match for him. I specifically checked that as well."
How Will Ultimate Pacifist Respond?
Ultimate Pacifist has yet to publicly accept Coach Emerson's ultimatum.
However, sources within LPW suggest the champion is exploring ways to fulfil his contractual obligation without compromising his commitment to non-violence.
Exactly what that means remains unclear.
Coach Emerson remains confident that he has finally closed every possible loophole - Ultimate Pacifist will defend the LPW Heavyweight Championship on the next Monday Night Mayhem.
